# Mathondu — Full Context Canonical public site: https://mathondu.com This document describes the Mathondu platform as implemented today. It does not list individual merchant stores or user-generated catalog content. ## Overview Mathondu is a web platform for local businesses and organizations to publish an online presence, share it, and take orders, bookings or enquiries. The brand name is inspired by the Kannada word ಮತ್ತೊಂದು (“another one”). Mathondu is built in Udupi, Karnataka, India, and is currently available for businesses in India. People outside India can join a waitlist. Mathondu is operated by Inbenne Technologies (legal name: Navaneeth B, Proprietorship, GSTIN 29CRIPB9232J1ZI). Mathondu provides the technology. The person or business that creates a page is responsible for what they publish, offer, price, fulfil, tax and support. Mathondu is not the seller of merchant offerings. ## What Mathondu Does Today a merchant can: - Create a Mathondu presence (website + installable storefront) with a shareable address such as yourname.mathondu.com - Add products, services, menu items, events or posts, depending on type - Take orders, bookings or enquiries on the Mathondu site, and continue some orders over WhatsApp - Chat with customers on the storefront - Generate bills / order PDFs - Share the page, catalog PDF, or product links - Optionally use AI for setup, listings, images, customer replies and admin Shop Assist - Receive billed WhatsApp notifications for orders, chat, status or bills (uses credits) Core store and order flows do not require credits. ## Who Mathondu Is For Shops, salons and other services, caterers, homemade food sellers, clubs and societies, and people publishing news or portfolios. Typical users are small and local businesses in India who want another place customers can find them — without assembling a separate website, catalog, order tool, WhatsApp workflow and billing stack. ## Supported Business Types ### Shop Sell products and take orders. Catalog, variants, cart, wishlist, reviews, delivery checkout where configured, and UPI/QR payment details the merchant publishes. ### Services Offer services, bookings and quotes. Services, bookings or quotes, and customer chat. Book flow where enabled. ### Catering Show menus and take event enquiries. Menus, event enquiries, cart where enabled, and delivery checkout where configured. ### Club / Society Create a home for your community. Events, RSVP / sign-ups, guest lists, and community chat. ### News / Portfolio Publish your work, updates and information. Posts, downloads or inquiries rather than a product cart. Signup verifies an Indian WhatsApp / mobile number with OTP. A merchant can set up manually (choose a type and fill details) or use optional AI-assisted setup (describe the business, speak, or attach photos; AI drafts type, listings and images). A presence gets a slug used as: - https://{slug}.mathondu.com - https://mathondu.com/s/{slug} Merchants manage it from the store admin after signing in with the same phone number. Existing businesses: https://mathondu.com/stores ## Storefront / Public Business Page The public page is a Progressive Web App. Customers can add it to the phone home screen. Typical chrome (varies by type): home/catalog, product or listing detail, cart or book flow, chat, settings/account, wishlist where applicable, reviews where applicable. Merchant-written names, descriptions, prices, photos, reviews and posts stay as the merchant wrote them. Mathondu does not automatically translate merchant content. ## Products and Listings Merchants add listings in admin. Types use different labels (products, services, menu, events, posts). Variants, categories, stock, prices, discounts and optional digital items are supported where the type allows. Optional AI can draft listings from descriptions or photos and generate product images (credits). ## Orders, Enquiries and Chat - Shops and catering: orders (and delivery details where configured) - Services: bookings or quotes - Clubs / societies: sign-ups - News / portfolio: inquiries Customers can chat with the store on the storefront. Optional customer AI replies (credits) can answer from the catalog when enabled. Admin Shop Assist (credits) helps the merchant from admin. Bills / order PDFs are included. ## Payments Current model (source: https://mathondu.com/pricing and Merchant Terms): Customers pay the business directly using payment details the merchant publishes, typically UPI ID or QR. Mathondu does not collect those customer payments and does not deduct a commission from those sales. Platform fee on those direct payments: ₹0. Merchants confirm payment, fulfil, handle taxes on those sales, and support the customer. Mathondu Checkout (integrated collection through a payment partner, optional KYC, settlement to the merchant) is not the default today. Public pricing marks online checkout as coming soon. If it is enabled later, any payment-processing or platform fees would be shown before payment. Using checkout will be optional. Mathondu Credits (see below) are a separate platform purchase: the merchant pays Mathondu for optional AI/WhatsApp features, not a cut of customer orders. ## WhatsApp Distinguish two things: 1. Mathondu's own WhatsApp (available today, India numbers) Customers and merchants can message Mathondu's WhatsApp. The bot supports English, Kannada and Hindi. It can open a store, show shops a customer follows or ordered from, show recent orders, let a merchant open stores they own, create a store (in-WhatsApp flow or a setup link), change language, and reach support. Customers can continue an order through WhatsApp. Sharing a store sends the public store link. Ordinary back-and-forth conversation on that chat does not use credits. Billed WhatsApp notifications (1 credit each, after the message is accepted) can notify the seller or customer about orders, chat, status or bills. These are sent from Mathondu's WhatsApp number, not from a seller-owned WhatsApp Business account. 2. Seller-owned WhatsApp Business / Meta shopping (not available as a general public product today) Public Pricing: "WhatsApp Business connectivity & automation — Coming soon." Public Coming soon: Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook channel connectivity — coming soon. Admin share tools also label WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger shopping as coming soon. Do not describe seller catalog sync to WhatsApp/Instagram/Facebook, or seller-owned WhatsApp automation, as live. ## AI Features AI is optional. Available when the merchant chooses it and has credits (new businesses receive 200 starter credits): - AI-assisted setup (describe / photos → draft store) - Customer AI chat replies (2 credits per reply) - Shop Assist for the merchant (2 credits per reply turn) - Live information lookup (3 credits per lookup) - AI product image (10 credits) Normal browsing, orders and customer activity do not require credits. Merchant content is not auto-translated by AI. ## Mathondu Credits Prepaid optional balance. Buy packs in admin → Settings → Credits. Store and orders keep working at zero. Public packs: - Starter: 100 credits for ₹99 (WhatsApp updates & AI) - Growth: 600 credits for ₹499 (20% more credits) - Pro: 1400 credits for ₹999 (40% more credits) Public credit uses (Pricing): - WhatsApp notification: 1 credit (seller or customer; ordinary WhatsApp conversations do not use credits) - Shop Assist reply: 2 - Customer AI reply: 2 - Live information lookup: 3 - AI product image: 10 New businesses also receive 200 starter credits. ## Languages Product UI (website, storefront chrome, admin, WhatsApp bot) currently supports: - English - Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡ) - Hindi (हिन्दी) Merchant-generated content is not automatically translated. It does not publish the catalog into a seller WhatsApp Business catalog — that remains coming soon. ## Future / Planned Capabilities These are not available as general public features today.
